I know this has nothing to do with this arena but I'm pissed off and need to rant.

A working machinist is becoming a rare commodity and their pressed to their limits
to meet the demands of the current markets.
We knew that coming into this field. There's no such thing as a 40 hour week or
a vacation that needs to be rescheduled.

Today was the annual running of the Kentucky Derby.
The "Run for the Roses".
Second place went to a filly named Eight Belles.
She gave 150% to that one slice of time race and collapsed at the end after
finishing 4 3/4 lengths behind the winner with two broken front ankles.
She was euthanized by injection after the race.
It's what she was bred and born to be, but pushed beyond the limits of what
is possible in the real world.

Life is a tough road to travel.
Push it too hard and the final result will not be a happy one.

Let me find out that you've gone to that extream you'll have one thing to
remember. As soon as you've recovered there will be a skinny old bald guy
buying a plane ticket to come an kick your ass in person!

Don't doubt my reach! ;)

Deadline should NEVER mean dead.
Lighten up! NOTHING in life should ever be allowed to be that critical.

Rick

Rick yes that is sad. race horses are bread to be lighter and faster unfortunately lighter can mean weaker. To race an animal to death ?? It is hard to believe that the trainers and vet did not see this coming yes there are risks in life, accidents can happen. Accidents injury and accidental death can be prevented with proper planning and precautions. .

We the willing ,
lead by the unknowing,
serve the ungrateful.
We have been doing
so much , with so little,
for so long , we are now
expected to do anything
with nothing .
An have it completed immediately.

Remember the Army leadership slogan?? Mission first. People Always!!

Rick: AMEN!! to that. This from one that the Doc said he did not expect to see me again, I walked out into heart surgery 2 1/2 years ago and am still surviving, didn't miss any time through my Chemo before that either. Management will use you up all they can to whatever extent you are willing to give.

The old saying, "been there, done that". Over 30 years at one place. All I got to show for it is a triple bypass at 50. Survied that and have had a wonderful reitrement for the last 7 years and many more to come. :)
