Hi, I have been lurking for a little while but decided had better join since I just aquired a Wade "lathe" see picture :)
I have built a brass oscilator in the distant past but did not have the time or resources to get more serious, I hope to change that this time around.

I live in Hobart, Tasmania at the bottom of Australia.

Ps. I have learnt a lot just in reading the various posts, thanks all.

Welcome:
So the round way is hollow and the lead screw goes through the Middle ?
Tin

Yes, it is open at the bottom, it has a power feed and when the gentleman I got it from finds them a full set of thread cutting gears.
It is about 80 years old.
I am trying to decide on the motor to use but assuming I can get a pulley made to suit it I will probally use a 240w 12v 3,800 rpm motor with a speed controller, both of which I already own.
The other option is to buy a cheapo bench drill and steal the motor with pulley's and switch assy.

Thanks for the welcome.

Nice to have you joining the forum GB. You're right, there is a lot of talent here to learn from.

Regards,
Mike
