Under the tarp is a 5,000lb Reid Oil Field Engine. The other picture is a set of castings for a small Reid model.

I think I'll start working on the little one... ;)

Why is that. The big one is less fiddly

I believe kits for the Reid Engines are still available from here:

Burns & Horner Engine Co. 1974 Pearl Ave. Warren, Michigan 48091. 586-443-9047
Casting kits, Reid 1/4 & 1/8 scale model oil field engines

They did have Bessemer Kits also. I have not machined any of their castings so I do not know anything about the quality of them.

John Burns used to own this company and his castings were very good quality.

I got the castings at NAMES last year. They were only 125.00 and since I have A big one too,I figured what the heck.
