I don't own this project but it was brought to me.
I received a call a few days ago from a man who had just bought an old
Craftsman lawn tractor that was made in the 1960's. He asked if I could
take a look at it for him.
Cool tractor, but the engine codes would place it's manufacture date to 1974.
I was 14 years old in 1974 and I'm only about 35 today, so it's NOT ALL THAT OLD!
:hDe:
(Note the location of the muffler to the carburetor. That wouldn't fly these days! )
First diagnosis shows it in need of points, condenser and a carburetor rebuild kit.
Those parts are all obsolete with no manufactures suggestion for substation available.
No Problem, I know where to shop for those kinds of things.
I have located all of the parts for a total of $33.51
That may end up being the total cost of this job.
How can you put a labor charge on something that you are having this much fun
just working on?
I do love the old iron one lung engines!
Or any engine for that matter...
