Hello, anymore out there building or completed the 4 cyl 1888 Forest engine sold by Lonestar Engine Works in Texas. Considering purchase and wanted any hints or problems with construction. Thanks
Maury built the first one with aluminum castings, and it runs well. The kit has iron castings, but is otherwise the same. It's a great looking engine but clearly not for beginners.
I am about half way through my build, castings are brilliant as are the drawings. It is not a beginners engine. Sorry to hear Maury is closing down, does anyone have any more info?
I think my castings were set number eight, I will have to check.
Just found Maury's announcement on Model Engine Maker. I would suggest buying whatever you can from him, you will not be disappointed. What a loss to the hobby this is.
