For Sale 270 offy plans by Ron collona

Strange because I'm currently in Genoa! Having been a resident here on and off for some years. What part are you in? I’m central, a short walk from the old town.

For Sale 270 offy plans by Ron collona

This is a little strange! Where exactly in the world are you? Your profile says Genoa Italy… that would be an unusual coincidence.

For Sale 270 offy plans by Ron collona

Unfortunately not, if Ron is unwilling or unable to provide them then I can’t make a copy. I believe he had some computer issues, that may be the reason. It might be possible to come to an agreement with him to allow someone else to do the distribution?

If it’s not, I believe that Ron is still selling digital copies.

    6 cylinder radial

I assume it would then be a “standard” odd number radial. So far as I know all radial engines were odd numbers of cylinders. Although I’m sure there must be at least one even one somewhere!

    6 cylinder radial

Hi all, Thought this was interesting. I was under the impression that radial engines always had an odd number of cylinders. Was visiting a museum this afternoon and they had a 6 cylinder anzani. Sorry for the quality of the picture. If there is some real interest I can go back and get some...

    Compressed air safety

Give it a go and let us know what happens. Maybe it will become the new standard.

    Compressed air safety

Thick layers of paint prevent visual inspection. Corrosion can be underneath and not seen. I have had either a clear coat, thin layer of what is probably red lead or nothing in air receivers.

    Compressed air safety

Hi, Sure, the 2 main issues I have encountered are crevice corrosion and inter granular corrosion. Details of both can be found online. Apparently they are relatively rare….. although I have come across them multiple times. My favourite ones were 2 year old pipe work that could be removed by...

    Compressed air safety

Pressure vessels are made out of plain steel for good reasons. Predictable failure is one of them. I’m not aware of any SS air receivers but for sure someone makes them. The problem with SS is it can corrode badly and unpredictably in certain circumstances. Not something I would trust.

What paint to use on Workshop floor?

Of the 2 floors I have done. One was in a high end industrial syntactic epoxy, this was a hassle to apply and highly toxic. Marked easy and all around a failure! The second was done in a basic water borne 2 part epoxy from the same company as the first. So far it has been very good. Yes it will...

Hello from Australia + request for advice

Hi, My last big shipment I did through DHL. Went well but for sure not the cheapest. Be aware that the packing materials need to be certified. Probably the only real way to get it correct is to have a professional company do it. Australia can be very demanding on things like this.

Hello from Australia + request for advice

Maybe, but machinery is not so cheap and available as in the US. It could well be worth doing. I ended up buying a machine from South Africa and shipping it to New Zealand as it was the cheapest way….. even with $$$ for shipping.
