    Considering a 3 phase CNC small lathe - - - have 240V single phase

Now im starting to question my knowledge. How are you getting 69amp single phase if 3 phase is 40amp? That would make sense if phase to neutral was the same voltage as phase to phase. Over here our single phase is 240volt, 3phase is 420volt. So the 3 phase splits the current draw in 3.

    Considering a 3 phase CNC small lathe - - - have 240V single phase

    I get 26kw, 40amp per phase, so 8.8kw x3

    Considering a 3 phase CNC small lathe - - - have 240V single phase

I will look on Monday. 40amp per phase? Thats a reasonable size machine, my big lathes I currently have, have a max rating of about 55amp per phase, 50kw ish and 60kva (im running on 3 phase now). If your machine is that big (40 amp) you are going to need a rather large phase converter, somthing...

    Considering a 3 phase CNC small lathe - - - have 240V single phase

My first small cnc lathe I had a phase converter running it. The phase converter would run on 1 or 2 phases and output 3 phase. Ran it for many thousands of hours without an issue.

    Demon V8 double size

Bolted it directly to the table through the center of the bar. The table is perfectly flat so once I machined the first side I flipped it over and bolted it down the same way

    Demon V8 double size

Work is extremely busy so im struggling to get much time in on the engine but its still coming along slowly.

    Demon V8 double size

Finished rocker covers. I get very little time to work on the engine during the week. 1 hour machine time for both covers, taking it extremely slow.

    Demon V8 double size

Hi all, I have spent the last few days converting the drawings to metric and doubling the size. Finding square material big enough was rather tricking so my best option was to start with round bar, 7” diameter is required. The next problem was how to hold it in the mill, I have quite a big cnc...

    1/4 scale V8, first project.

Nice looking engine. How did the 2x scale sound? Ive just started a 2x myself. Darren

    Demon V8 (multiplied 1.5)

Hi, Thanks for the reply. 8 times the area rather than 8 times the diameter is what I was suggesting. Understood regarding the frictional losses with the smaller hole, so with 8 times the cc I may only need something like 6 times the area to give me 8 times the flow.

    Demon V8 (multiplied 1.5)

Nice looking engine, you have done a great job. I have the plans and have drawn them up double size in cad. The original engine is 25cc, yours being about 85cc, mine will end up 200cc. Did you increase the water gallery and carb by 1.5 or by the increase in capacity ie 3.4 times the area for...

    Hi All

Hi All, Darren here from little old New Zealand. I hope you all are keeping safe with what is going on. I have been involved with engineering/machining now for 20 years. My first big project what a 7-1/4 inch live steam loco that I built 15 years ago. I turned my hobby into a busniess, I own...
