I don't know . my driver works & the motor spins doing a tutorial , but just sits there with this project . for the tutorial it just uses step & direction like the project here animal

I'm back on this project . I have everything working until I plug in my stepper board , it freezes everything. I have to unplug the stepper board & hit reset to get it to come up again but as soon as I plug the stepper board in it's frozen again. this is my stepper board...

what I do with small part's like this is I drill a very shallow hole on a piece of wood the diameter of the part & drop the part in the shallow hole ,the sides of the hole will keep the part from moving around while I clean up the part
