1916 65 HP Case Traction Engine 1/16 Scale

Looks like you found the same pictures of a Case pressure gauge as I did, except that I chose one that showed about 75lb pressure. Otherwise, I proceeded much as you did. I'm glad I was able to contribute to your superlative build.

I like that ratchet throttle. Maybe this winter I can modify my tractor to accommodate this. As for the fake pressure gauge, if you look at my posted pictures you'll see one on top of my dome. All I did was make something that looked like the appropriate housing, then stuck a suitably shrunk...

Haven't heard back from them. Don't expect to. I see this as a site to avoid.

What have you been doing today?

Good point, Bentwings. I am forgetting about them, though I did manage to get in touch in a roundabout way and ask them to delete any information about me that they might have.

What have you been doing today?

I'm not too sure about the malware thing. I've tried 4 different computers on this. In addition, this is the only site that has ever given me trouble. I also scan my computer regularly to detect problems. None ever.

What have you been doing today?

Here's an interesting one. I recently tried to register myself on a site called canadianhobbymetalworkers.com which is a forum for Canadian model engineers of pretty well any persuasion--or at least what that's what the site says. I went through the registration process, and my email address...

Much better to do what you did. Just as accurate in the long run.

    Round Column Mill

Here's what SmithDoor posted: https://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/threads/reduce-vibration-on-tube-columns-on-mills-drill-press-grinders-with-torque-arm-add-to-mill.29461/#post-341358 That being said, I must say I can't understand the torque arm completely. Perhaps a further comment would...

    Round Column Mill

I have been reading this with interest, and have a question. How do the manufacturers of these mills try to make allowance for a user's changing the height without losing accuracy? Is there a procedure to be followed incorporated into the owner's manual? A physical reference point somewhere on...

1916 65 HP Case Traction Engine 1/16 Scale

Thanks, Raveney, for your kind comments about my tractor. It's obvious to me that two people worked on the tractor: the one who did the body, wheels, gears, and engine; and the one who made such a disaster of the boiler, dome, throttle, lubricator and all the associated piping. As someone who...

1916 65 HP Case Traction Engine 1/16 Scale

My horrid boiler was indeed made with regular plumbers' solder. Here are a couple of pictures of my Rudy Case after repairs, which included re-making the boiler, the dome, the throttle, the displacement lubricator and all of the associated piping. Somehow, except for the mediocre paint job...

1916 65 HP Case Traction Engine 1/16 Scale

Beautiful job on the boiler! I made one myself once, after buying a Rudy tractor sight unseen and being assured by the seller that it had a new, siver-soldered boiler. Here's what I got; needless to say, it was scrapped and replaced immediately: The rest of the tractor was reasonably well-made...

    Diy hydraulic shop press

Makes sense to me. I use my 3-ton arbor press daily as a cat-food-can crusher (I have five cats, so lots of little aluminum cans that I melt down periodically), and at the outset I had to adjust the arm to provide the optimum clearance and stroke. If I had to adjust it frequently, It would...

    Diy hydraulic shop press

Watch the yard sales. I got a 3-ton rack-and-pinion arbor press for $20.00.

Yeah. Pretty miserable Well, it's not my fault. That was a pretty miserable yard sale.😜

I just use this little thing I found at a yard sale.
