    Nut drivers etc...?

I can't tell you where to get these small nit drivers, as I don;t know myself, but I have heard of people using socket head cap screws as nut drivers. If you loctite a SHCS in the end of an aluminum or steel bar, this can be used as an effective and cheap nut driver. Just a thought. Kel

Advice on Reaching out for employment

Thanks a lot everyone, I have to say it is going better than I could have imagined. I was on a manual mill most of the day, and when the little blue light started blinking on the Fadal CNC machine, I would go over and reset the machine with a new set of parts. It is no secret, I actually made...

Advice on Reaching out for employment

Thanks again guys! Well, yesterday went well, very well. After taking with the guys about policies and whatnot I was immediately put to work with a hand grinder to de-bur some parts, and spent the rest of the afternoon doing that. I showed up today and finished what I had left from yesterday...

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

Wow Kevin, that is a pretty cool vid! I love the fly through camera work. I have nearly settled on a design, I will indeed be increasing the stroke from .5" to .575" or .6". I will need to make solid bronze connecting rods in order to make them smaller so they don't interfere with the block and...

Advice on Reaching out for employment

How's the old saying go? "Perseverance is Everything" Well, today I helped support that phrase. It has been a little over a year since my first visit, and I have been back a few times since. Here is there website http://www.innovativesolutions-llc.com/About%20Us.htm Just last week I...

    Master rod layout

I can't help ya Steve, but I too am interested in how to do this, and I don't want to miss the answer. I might start a thread on cam designs for a radial. Awfully confusing, but I am sure it is simple. Kel

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

Thanks for the tips guys. I have made another design, based on C. I can round out the combustion chamber quite a bit. Though I might need to dome the pistons to get the compression ratio I am after, between 6.5 and 7 to 1 I currently have room for intake runners up to .203" diameter, and the...

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

It Lives!!!..............again. The crank throw journals on the crankshaft were to far gone to fix, but I have managed to fix one of the crankshafts I screwed up before by making the main journals smaller to get them to run true. Well, I could only fix the outer two bearings, I will be leaving...

    Homebrew boxer twin prototype

Jeff, Sorry I am a bit late to the party. This is one awesome project you have going here. It is pretty darn cool you want to put this in an R/C plane, I have been dreaming about doing that for some time now. I really like your bench setup. There is a lot going on, plenty of data points to...

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

I have here a couple designs for the combustion chamber. Previously the combustion chamber was in the top of the cylinder in the block, and the head was flat. This design the combustion chamber is milled straight into the head .1", with flat square sides all around. This allows the spark plug...

    Gear Cutters vs Gear Hob

I purchased two 48dp cutters from Travers. After my purchase I was sent a coupon for 20% off my next purchase. So I bought the rest of the set. I cant say this will be your experience but I was very pleased. So far I have only used them a few times, but I am sure glad to have them. I like to do...

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

That is a pretty cool video Kevin. Thank you for posting it. I am still working on the new upgrades. I am thinking about moving the combustion chamber from the top of the block to inside the head. This will allow more angle on the spark plug leaving more room for bigger valves and larger...

    Tiny Inline 4 Cylinder IC

Hello CS, Glad to hear you have already started to material selection process. There is no reason not to make the oil pan in 2 pieces. I was limited by my material selection, but if you have a piece big enough, go for it. Making bronze connecting rods is a good idea. That is part of my High...
