Took a break from engines... ...and built this BB gun

THAT IS AWESOME KEVIN! Is this your design? I really like the simplicity, and it is very effective. I have built a single shot cannon a few times. It would shoot anything I could fit in the 1/4" bore. Usually steel bullets, but nothing near as cool as yours. Kel

    Jacobs Ladder---

Thanks Brian. I scrolled the image and now I see the note. ;D I know what you mean about tolerance being expensive. My new job, which I love BTW, has me reading prints much like I did when building engines, except for the dimension tolerance. I now know what .63 is supposed to be :big: Kel

    Jacobs Ladder---

This is a really cool mechanism Brian! or should I say, "What is, A Cool Mechanism!" ;) I am curious to know how you are going to machine acute angles on the stairs? Kel

    Myth Busted

That is weird. I usually seem them taking precautionary measures for safety. What the heck did they have a cannon pointed towards houses for? I wonder how long the cannonball traveled before hitting the house. I hope they don't pull the funding for the show. MythBusters is my favorite...

CS building the Tiny 4 cyl. inline.

I like the fins on the bottom of the oil pan CS! The larger bore will require a slight modification to the carburetor venturi size, but there should be plenty of meat left on the barrel to drill a larger hole if necessary. I have seen a generic formula for carb venturi sizes vs. engine bore to...

CS building the Tiny 4 cyl. inline.

Great Start on the TI4 CS! I like your use of the D-Bit to make the liner bores. I used a boring head and it took me forever. Keep up the good work, I am excited to follow along. Kel

New mill is on the way

I , Like Ron, purchased it before the magnetic scales were offered. I did not get the high res scales, but I am very pleased with .0002" res. More than enough, .0005" would be fine for what I do, even at work. The fella I talked to over the phone said they have never had a scale returned due to...

New mill is on the way

Congrats George! It is much bigger looking sitting next to your pick-up than in the catalog. FWIW, in my unbiased and unaffiliated opinion I have a DRO PRO's unit, and I am incredibly pleased with it. Their service is great, and they are willing to help in any way. The unit itself is very...

    Krazy Klockwork Mechanism

I love the Idea Brian, and your concept of getting your engines to 'Do' something. Looking forward to the build. I gotsta get me that book, it looks like a great read. The mechanism you have chosen looks like it could be adapted to a spindexer, making for extremely fast indexing simply by...

    Parting off problems... advice needed...

I recently started work at a prototype shop. I was given the task of parting off a part from the CNC Lathe, a 4 inch diameter steel motor coupler with an interrupted cut caused by 8 bolt holes going through it. I can't say exactly what type of insert tool was in the holder, but I was able to...

Why no hobby time for me lately

Great job on the cabinets Kevin, the led's are a great touch. I can't say weather or not trying to bend it back is a good idea, but a ground flat table saw table sounds like a pretty awesome idea ;), Kel

Anyone have a site where you sell things and what software to you build the site

FWIW, I went to http://www.weebly.com and created a website for free. I sell my engine plans from this site. I only had to pay for a Domain name, I went through Go-Daddy for that. I thought the weebly site was somewhat easy to use, but was limited in features. You can check out what I did in...

    Built up Flywheel-2011

Great plan Brian! and nice looking parts. The popcorn will look great with that baby on there. I know what you mean about the bronze, it's like riding on a motorcycle in a sand storm. Kel

    Arnold's tooling odds 'n ends

Great Idea Arnold! A great use for those mostly useless screw holes on the back of the vice. Kel

Thanks Bogs, and Ray. I am learning that you need to be pretty tall to run a bridgport type milling machine. :big: Kel
