    Lister Diesel engine build

I was "taken" by an article in M.E. written by a fellow Australian, on his build of a scale Lister 6/1 diesel, c/w diesel pump and injector. I started out by trying to use the drawings in ME, but they were lacking in some details, and were contradictory in some dimensions. I finally got enough...

    Traction Engine woes.

I started building this home grown Traction Engine with a set of home drawn up plans approx 1.5 times a Sweet Sixteen. The Sixteen has a sliding cylinder inside a cylinder. It does not have a normal cylinder and slide valve arrangement. I scaled up the slide cyl in slide cyl unit, built it but...

    Farm Engine Compression.

Thanks for the reply. There is no rocking up to compression,& the valves do seal, I think I need to increase the C.R. I did just read that topic. The engine only has a 7/8" bore, that is why I figured that the big space was useless. The piston does not have rings, but if I put my hand over the...

    Farm Engine Compression.

This is my Farm Engine from Strictly IC Magazine. I need to know about the compression that is required to make it run. The plans call for the piston to stop about 3/8" from the top of the cylinder. I built it like that and it had no noticeable compression. I then remachined the cylinder so...
