    Parting made easy

You can only part off running in reverse if the chuck is a bolt on type Rear toolpost with tool upside down is the prefered setup depending on the lathe/job it can stay in situ without changing setup

    BAZMAK-Diary of a Myford ML7 lathe restoration

Lathe arrived as described without motor and a broken cross slide feedscrew.A quick strip down revealed everything clagged up with dried grease Looked as though it hadn't been used for a long time,no bad thing. First pleasant surprise was it was a very late model serial no 99408 circa 1971 I...

    BAZMAK-Diary of a Myford ML7 lathe restoration

Your right again Norm, the stand is mainly for build up and sales etc and for moving around in my limited workspace. I would not use it the wheels but design some adjustable feet or have it fixed down whilst using the lathe

    Struggling to tap some stainless.

When I have tapping problems I use a combination of taps alternately.Hand tapping not machine tapping I cut a couple of threads with a taper tap then 1 thread with a plug tap then repeat. Also use the combination drill/tap and spiral flute WD 40 works well but I have spent 30mins on one tapped hole

Bazmak - A chinese mini linisher

Taking note of xd351 comment I agree the small alum roller is the main reason for the belt slip I was finding the linisher very useful and using it all the time.Spraying with sticky was not the ideal solution and was clogging up the bearings thoughts travelled to rubber drive rollers I purchased...

Myford lathes help and advice for Bazmak

Thanks Dick on your informed comments With a simple answer do you think its feasible to swap a long bed on a super 7 with a short bed from an ML7.I think the leadscrew will be the main problem as that has to transfer with the bed.Could everything else be transfered Ie headstock, countershaft...
