    MatiR, at what point in the machining of the rods did you mill the .251 / .254 slot in the fork rod ? before or after milling the piston end to thickness ?

    All the talk on the other post inspired me to start on the connecting rods. I think right now I have more time in the fixture and tooling than the parts Milling a rod: Before and after: Now on to mill the radii on each end.

    Dave, thanks, I made a 12 mm one today. drilled 15/32" then reamed hole in the mill. holed ended up at .472" I am pleased.

    many years ago I scored a set of Millersburg hand reamers from 3/16 to 1" by 1/16 in nice wood box for $40. they too appeared to be unused. that was a find. I have moved to the point hand reamers don't fill my needs. so, when i put in an offer for a nice set of chucking reamers I was surprised...

    I scored a set of Yankee Reamers 1/16" to 1/2" by 1/32" brand new on ebay for cheap ! I also ordered the import over under set Enco has on sale. Hopefully that will hold me over for a few days !

    that dividing head was a HSM project in the late 80's by Phil Duclos. I think it is in one of the project books but I am not positive.
