    RUBY KOUHOUPT MARINE ENGINE

Thanks Dave for the karma I had not given up yet, it would take a whole lot more that that to make me stop. Well had some more time in the shop. First off was the straighten out the shaft. When the engine fell it also pulled the air regulator with it, so this help break the fall. It did hit the...

    Mini Bike

Steve, Micromark has liquid rubber you can mold. It has different drying time depending on with one you buy. This rubber is see to make tires for models. They also sell mold silicone to make the molds with. I am sure you could make a mold to pour the rubber in, after all you have done so far on...

Mendocino Motor - The Build Continues

George I have a motor that I had purchased. The motor was made from plexiglass panel .125 thick by making a square panel for both ends and passing a shaft through both. What they did was drill and tap holes in the edge of each plexiglass panel and photcell to secure them with. The photocells are...

    RUBY KOUHOUPT MARINE ENGINE

Thanks Tin and Dave for your comments. Dave I do have collets and collet chucks. It was one of those dumb things I do sometimes. Today I will try to sraighten my shaft to better tolerance. Then disassembling to pretty it up. I was rather proud of it till it fell, but it could of been worse. Don

    RUBY KOUHOUPT MARINE ENGINE

Today I had a little time in the shop and my taps finally came in. I have a short video of the engine running. Although I had a mishap with the engine I managed to get it running again but it is still tight. When I set it up to video it I turn the air on and the engine started and vibrated of...

Dave have you read the new issue of Home Shop machinest yet. The scraping part eight by Michael Ward is great. This one really focuses on the lathe ways. I loved the articles he goes in depth with what he is trying to achieve. Don

    turning small dia brass

Just like Marv said and I would also use a small diameter cutting tool and keep it sharp, then nibble at it to size. Make sure you last pass is repeated without more in feed. The other method I would use is graving if it is not a straight turning. Don

    PM Research No. 1 Build

Brian I also agree with you the casting on these model engine need a sandblast finish not rough casting like the bigger engines with the fillets, drafts and curves this makes for a good looking engine. Don

    Awkward Evening

Steve as the old saying goes the grass always looks greener on the other side. He has to find this out for himself nothing you tell him will make a different. Like you said he is thinking with the wrong head. All will be great for a while and that will Change with time. Abraham Linclon once said...
