More work on the crankshaft since last post, 1/ & 2/ second crank pin on track, went over to my big 4 jaw chuck, 3/ this is a large chuck, have only used it once this century, 4/ pieces coming together. Thanks for watching

Thanks for all the explanations on this post, I picked up some chunks of brassy looking 2 inch bar, about 30 years ago, probably boat prop shaft, it will take front and sides off a parting blade.

Todays work on the Onan opposed twin, see castings page, working on the crankshaft, photo 1 setting up for turning between centres, 2 centre drilling, 3 reducing the weight, 4 turning the crankpin.

This is a steam engine. You can tell the men from the boys by the size of the toys.

I usually find I have a broken drill the right size in my box of such, a touch on the grinder with just a little cutting edge is all that is needed, also when sinking socket head bolts I usually have one already to size in a box. Keep up the good work. Ted

I am a member of a model train Club in S E Queensland, Australia, we give kids rides on our model railways, Steam engines are popular but beyond some of us. I have built a Fairmont 6 man Gangers trolley powered by a mower engine. It does real work pulling up to 16 people on our 7 & 1/4 inch track.

More pictures of progress on my Onan opposed twin, the timing cover is a bit rough but there is a lot more to machine on it, a friend gave me a Lifan Chinese magnito so need to fit that, it is almost exactly the same as the original Onan one only much smaller, should work fine, it fits inside...

Again today we cast the timing cover, and one of the cylinder blocks. A lot of cleaning up after but it is all good. Ted
