    Edge Finder Operation

Mine came apart the other day at 1000 rpm BUT I managed to grab it by the other wiggler end without noticing. Stretched the spring but never let go. Greg

    Ever noticed the woodwork people?

I'll fess up, I'm a cabinet maker some days, (today, building a set of shaker style dressers for a client out of beech) but when clients call the machine shop pays the bills. The bottom half of the shop has a 18 x 80 and a 12 x 24 lathe, vertical mill, shaper, press, drill press, tig, stick, and...

    The great oil debate!

Andrew, Wish I had seen your post sooner, Shell Tellus 32 is available at any Shell bulk oil dealer. Last one I bought was about $40 for a 20 liter pail. As for way oil I've been using chain saw bar oil for years, cheap and sticks to the ways beter than any oil I've run across, if it will lube a...

Last thing out of the shop was a 7 inch diameter flat belt pulley with a 2 1/4 bore to re-power a hammer tool water well rig...

    My first engine PMR 1BI

Hi All Fairly new to the group, been lurking for a while drooling over some of the work you craftsmen do. Last winter decided to make some time to do something I've always to try. Been machining for a while, mostly since I retired from the oilfield, but never tried anything on this scale. Most...

Another Reason to buy or make a diamond tool holder

Dan The shaper doesn't get used a lot, but I guess building a holder just got moved up the list. Greg

Another Reason to buy or make a diamond tool holder

Hi New here, a great wealth of information and ideas. Has anyone tried making a tangential tool holder to use in a shaper. Would seem to be a natural, with built in back rake. Might need to use Niels clamping method to with stand the cutting forces. Greg
