I built three Moriya fans years ago, one for me and two as gifts. As you can see I made a few changes to suit my tastes at the time. They have always been great runners.

I haven't read the magazine article but have built the vise and I'm also responsible for creating the 3D CAD and 2D drawings. The only special tool that I recall having to make was the bushing to broach the key way. I did post a build thread located here...

If you have already created your drawing all you need to do is left click on the view that you want to edit and you should get a pop up menu, select the manage view icon and you will get a dialog that will allow you to turn the hidden lines on and off...

I think that Ed passed away, judging from the comments on Smokestack there are probably safer places to spend your money. Dave

Myrickman yes I was also thinking the same thing with regards to the compressor having a much smaller volume over the piston. If this were a compressor it likely would have not had that much volume above the piston.
