    5 cyl OHC Radial.

Hi Brian, I’m new to this thread (not to mention model engineering as a hobby) but am following along with great interest. Glad to see you’re back at it and hope your health improves for 2020 and on. Cheers, Nick

Taking Chinese 3 Jaw Metal Lathe chuck apart for cleaning

If you wanted to use oil you could try steam oil - it’s much thicker and more ‘gloopy’ so doesn’t tend to get thrown off things so quickly. Personally, although I’m no where near an expert I use grease in mine as it tends to stay put for the most part. Nick

    my modest 2-stroke

Looking good Igor - previous writers have mentioned direction of rotation and hand protection , however I would also add (as an RC flyer of over 35 years) I don’t believe hitting a prop is a good idea - you can injure yourself or damage the prop. If the engine is small enough you can also bend...

    Panther 600 V12

Amazing project. Really looking forward to hearing it run. (Wish I could stick it in a scale aircraft and fly it too but it would have to be something really special to warrant the potential risk!) Please keep the pictures coming, thanks for sharing.

    Finally run !

Well done - looks and sounds great. Only question for me is ‘where is the air screw/propeller!’? Seriously though, lovely job and I’m glad it ran for you after a little tinkering.

Rust prevention with Lanolin - It's better then oil

Thanks for the info - if using lanolin to protect part machined/finished parts for a long term build (very long term in my case!) how do I get the lanolin off at a later date to prime/paint the surfaces or isn't this possible reliably? (Hope that isn't a stupid question - someone's bound to be...

    September Project of the Month

Great engine Brian. I'm new to the forum (and model engineering) but that doesn't stop me enjoying your project and appreciating some of the effort you must have put in to achieve it. People find inspiration from seeing things finished (I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this) and the video clip...

Making a D1 4 Chuck reciever for a rotary table.

Excellent project - I've found it almost impossible to obtain commercial products for the D1 4 chucks (without price tags that are simply beyond my means!) Please could you send me a copy of the plans too. Many thanks, Nick
