What have you been doing today?

Smoking weed, twiddling my thumbs and watching the sun go up and down. I like to conserve my energy in the summertime. Soon I will go back to work building model engines. Mark T

Anycubic Photon M3 resin printer. How good/bad is it?

Here in the US they are available on Amazon. $499 get it in couple of days. The new upgraded Saturn S is now out so maybe it's just a temporary supply issue. The need for heat is dependent on the resins requirements. A lot of resins are very viscous and need heat to help them flow better when...

Anycubic Photon M3 resin printer. How good/bad is it?

I have the Elegoo Saturn and have been using it for several months now. I like it. I also Have the smaller Anycubic Mono. The larger print volume is great to have. Being able to print larger parts or just a lot more smaller parts at once is well worth the extra cost. The printer is made mostly...

    Replicating Bruce Satra's M-1 and M-5 engine

Some of the best resins cost well over $300/bottle. Siraya Tech cast at $80/bottle is doable. It is a very good general resin for both large and small prints. And it does have some wax in it. The resin is very thick and needs a short wait time before the UV light turns on to allow the resin to...

    Replicating Bruce Satra's M-1 and M-5 engine

I use Ransom & Randolph Plasticast. The shrinkage is most noticeable in thick prints. If your part has a mixture of thick and thin areas you will see some part distortion. Mark T

    Replicating Bruce Satra's M-1 and M-5 engine

Yes, I do as the resins instructions recommend and post cure under uv light for an hour. The prints are sticky until post curing. After post curing the parts are less brittle. For the Siraya Tech cast I place the print in a jar of vegetable glycerin during the post curing as recommended. I use...

    Replicating Bruce Satra's M-1 and M-5 engine

I agree castable resins are difficult to print. I have been printing with Siraya Tech Cast, one of the affordable casting resins. It requires large supports and is very brittle. But once I found the best settings for my printers and how to best position patterns on the build plate I have been...

    FreeCad blunder

I think you have opened the gate to the upside down world. The Upside Down is an alternate dimension existing in parallel to the human world. I hope I am wrong, its a dark and forbidding place. Mark T

The answer to your problem is a variable pitch propellor. Web site Controllable Pitch Propeller microcosm-engine.com I have built a number of full size boats with variable pitch props and they work great. Set your engine RPM to a speed your engine likes then control speed and direction with...

    Homemade sandblasters .

Here you go Minh Thanh. The vacuum is used to rid the cabinet of dust so you can see what you are doing. It is a special vacuum for cleaning out a fireplace. It handles very fine dust very well. For lighting in side I used CFL bulbs protected by mason jars. The window is removable so I can tape...

    Homemade sandblasters .

I made a standup cabinet sand blaster out of plywood. I lined the inside with a rubber sheet intended as a pond liner. It works great and I have been using it for years. Mark T

This video shows the direction change box and the part that the drive gear attaches to being assembled. This one shows the drive gear being installed I assume your lathe does not have a quick change gear box like mine does ( not many do). So your drive gear is different than mine. Photos...

If you are only closing a .063" gap there should be very little if any deformation of the tube. I have done this on marine engine manifolds many times without any trouble. I do not know if MAPP gas would get the tube as hot as you need. But two Mapp torches might. If you can get a red spot all...
