    Small engine dyno

Very nice. I agree that a inertia dyno is a lot simpler and less fiddly than a water or eddy current Dyno. I'm interested in seeing what design and operability challenges exist with a scaled down version of the large commercially available machines. I'm curious to see if I can close a speed loop...

    Small engine dyno

In the near future I plan on building a small engine Dyno. It will most likely be a eddy current type very similar to a Froude EC38, but scaled down. I'll test it by spinning it up on my lathe bed.

    Small casting (alluminium) aty home.

I decided to build and electric furnace so that I can set different temperatures and have the capability of following a "Ramp Soak" profile for investment burnout. Attached is a video that provides an overview. Most of the information to build the furnace I gleaned from YouTube. The heating...

    Small casting (alluminium) aty home.

I recently built a furnace for melting aluminum. It runs on 120vac. So far I have just tested it by melting scrap and pouring into a muffin pan. It gets up to 1400 deg F at a rate of 0.5 degree/second. I can provide more detail if anyone is interested.

Looking for a good way to learn solidworks

I've been using AutoCAD for work doing electrical design since R10 and then AutoCAD Electrical. I purchased a 3D printer about a year ago and needed a 3D software package. I downloaded a copy of Fusion 360, which is free for non commercial use. I've been very happy with it. Plenty of YouTube...

My first Engine - ML Midge

Thank you for the compliments and words of encouragement. Expert advice also greatly appreciated! After a lot of running on the 8 X 4 prop. the engine is still a little tight, but I went ahead and changed to a 6 X 4 to try out my new optical tach. With the 8 X4 prop the engine runs at about...

My first Engine - ML Midge

Here is a short video of the break-in. I'm using a 8 X 4 prop. No issues so far. It's a very quiet engine.
