    Spiral Twist on a mill

There's a recurring job I do at work that is a 1-in-21" twist, three grooves inside a graphite bearing... I cut 'em on a Bridgeport with a geared dividing head, and an angle head on the mill. I wonder if it's possible to set one of those micro lathes on the table, and gear it to the left side...

    The new shop!

Impressive. I've put down and leveled enough concrete to do maybe 75% of your floor space... once, and I never want to do it again.

    Another Oops

"I, ROBOT", Ha, I like that. ;D Yeah, I'm gonna have fun with this... after I grind more tools, and write my OWN programs. It was late, I'd just gotten the lathe running, I HAD to cut something. ;D

    Another Oops

Ok, I'll post another of mine here... So, I've just gotten my new Sherline lathe converted to CNC, running well, and cutting threads. However, a few days ago, I thought I'd try running the sample turning program that came with Linux EMC. I might have gotten away with it, if I'd had a narrow...

    CNC Sherline Lathe Project

Well, it works. After two weeks of struggling with it, I can finally singlepoint threads with this lathe. The Sample threading program that comes with EMC was pretty rough with mismatched speed and feed, relying on the encoder to sort things out, but by matching the spindle speed and feedrate I...

    Anybody want to guess---

Looks great so far. ;D Sorry I didn't post sooner, I was busy chasing a ball bearing around on the floor with a hand drill. Well, I could have been. ;D

    My shop in the basement

Wow, I like that color on the lathe. On the Bridgeport, I guess I've seen them in plain grey for too long. ;D Thanks for sharing.

    SX3 Conversion

Hahaha, I'm glad you got it! ;D See, it wasn't so bad. The .exe, though, isn't part of the license. Anyway, it works! How about LazyCAM and all? 95 South did that song first.

    SX3 Conversion

Right-click on it, and you should get a bunch of options, including "Extract Here" or similar. Do that, and it'll pile the contents of that zip into the current location.
