Sand blast blacken aluminium surface - glass blast make surface shiny.

Start with crankcase casting . Remove all roughness with fine file and sand paper then air blast it with Glass powder. You will get very nice shiny casting surface.

Your engine has very low idling RPM and glow plug filament probably cools down between ignitions. Try four stroke glow plug. Anyway amazing low idling on your two stroke baby - congratulation.

Buy gear train including camshaft separately as spare part.

Try to inject /syringe with needle/ small amount of fuel straight into cylinder trough exhaust port. This overflow sometime helps to start engine.
