I learned to draw via hand. It seems to be a lost art now. When I was in college we had ACAD 9.0 on glorified 286 computers. Yep, loading a floor plan took 5 minutes or more. Having the ability to draw is IMHO a must. Same goes for using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers ..ect...

Mark, When I was 14, my father taught me to sharpen bits on a grinder. It's good to know! Call me lazy but I like the drill doctor. :)

I like the idea of using cast iron piston rings. I understand that internal combustion engines require more compression, and have a completely different configuration then air powered ones. So my question is what is the proper ratio and gapping sizes recommended for air powered engines?

I bought a mill attachment for my grizzly 7 x 12 lathe. I find that using the tail stock to advance material works great. Problem is I'm am not getting the accuracy I want. I was wondering if there is an insert or tool available that can be mounted to the tail stock to accurately advance my mill?

Having a mount on the cross slide that allowed height adjustments would be stellar!

Why not get a mill attachment?

And my father gave me his micrometer and a set of measuring tools.
