    Long Island Steam

One of the best things to do on Long Island, NY. http://longislandlivesteamers.org/index.php

    Bench grinder setups

Chuck, I don't think you will have much of a problem changing grind stones. It's all straight forward. If your grinder does not bog down, then there is no reason to buy another. I hope this helps, Rob

    Names we should know

Tin, I grew up making all sorts of plastic models and wooden aircraft. I learned skills and patience that have helped me throughout my life. When one makes something that can be held, studied and works, the knowledge obtained is far greater than any ACAD concept can convey. Thanks, Rob

    Names we should know

Tin, I am always looking to expand my library. Thanks for the links. Also, I hope younger generations will embrace machining. I think it should be required for Engineering students to have fundamental knowledge of Lathes, Mills and the like. After all machining and all the sciences...

    A gift!

I wasn't content with the first build so I made another. It would have been completed a lot sooner had I used the traditional steam chest. Regardless, it was fun and I learned a lot. Thank you all for helping. Rob Mark VI can be viewed at the site listed below...

    The Impending Flood

I used a product to empty my pool and it worked. It's based on Bernoulli's principle. You might find it interesting. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VBGG24/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Solder Paste

Norman, I agree and will tin the surfaces before putting them together. I don't see the need to use silver solder, it's unnecessary and too problematic IMHO. This is after all a pneumatically powered machine. Thanks!

    Silver braze/solder

No doubt this is a heated debate. :wall:

    Silver braze/solder

Norman, In the UK do you also call it "sweating?" My family came from the UK and we still use the same words/ slang you do.

    Solder Paste

Has anyone used solder paste on a project? I ask because I've just finished a project in which the tolerances are less than .003", and I'm concerned that capillary action won't spread the soldier via traditional means.

    Stirling Helicopter

Also, I am interested in how the lacquer holds up, as I might do the same with the engine I am currently machining. Thanks for creating the videos!
