E Z Engine... Perhaps not that easy...

That is NOT scrap. It is simply material waiting to be recycled into another project that needs smaller pieces. :big: (I have lots of those)

E Z Engine... Perhaps not that easy...

Nice job so far. I find it useful to mark my holes and then just hold the pieces in place and see if the holes seem to make sense by eyeball. Catch a few mistakes that way.

    Backups

I have been using Acronis for years and love it. It does full and incremental backups to external drives or DVD. Also can do an image of your hard disc. Anytime I buy a new computer I load my basic software including Windows office and then make an image of the hard drive. At any time I can...

    Zee's dirty little secret

As Rick's "better half", I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed these posts and this thread. Who knew machinists have these whole other lives that don't get told about very often? Or that they are so much fun? Thanks for the laughs Zee. Genean

    Zee's dirty little secret

Kind of like Tiger and his girl friends. No telling how many more secrets we will hear about now!! :big:

    Zee's dirty little secret

Any of them play banjo? I canoed the Eleven Point River in Southern MO and could have sworn I heard banjos in the hills. :big:

    Zee's dirty little secret

Yeah. Well, they have a hard shell but it is pretty thin. Doesn't take much pressure to get them to crack. Once they crack they just spill their guts. Not a group you want to put a lot of trust in. On the other hand I have heard that some of them are tough and have some real nuts.

    Zee's dirty little secret

Mike; Don't worry too much about what Zee says about Red. What Zee doesn't know is that Red has been working for me for some time now. Here he is on his last trip to Oklahoma when he came to deliver all the dirt.

    Zee's dirty little secret

Not sure. But, I think his love interest is the green one on top.

Your secret is out Zee. No more pretending.

    Zee's dirty little secret

Having exposed Zee's past days as a male dancer now seems tame compared to his current shady life. Had to have some spies follow him around to get the really good stuff. Seems that he likes Las Vegas and was hoping what he did there would stay there! No chance. His cover is blown and his secret...

Re: My second engine - the ez2 (running)

Looks like you are off to a good start. See if you can improve on the design even more. It would be cool to see an evolution of this design with each build adding something to it.

My First Build! - it's alive!

Very nice. Darn you! Now I want one. Thm:

    First build, an EZ Build

You don't need round stock to make a flywheel. 1/4 inch flat aluminum will do. Punch the center, scribe the circle then cut with a hacksaw to get as much of the corners off as possible. Mount on the face of the chuck jaws (not in them) and use a live center to hold it in place. Double sided...

    First build, an EZ Build

I always love it when parts are scrounged and adapted. Certainly makes it more personal when they were your dad's. Looking forward to seeing it built.

    Grizzly $25 DRO Query

Well that's pretty crappy! (or is it crappie?) ;D

    Brians Pumpjack

Are pre-nominations valid?? :big:; Kidding aside. Another nice build Brian. Looks good and the action is scaled and realistic. Nice addition to many engines. As always; thanks for posting the plans for the rest of us.

    I hate my Z! (Axis... X2) Ideas?

Agree with it being sloppy. When I really want control of the Z axis for small distances here is what I do: I have a coil spring about 2.5" long and 1" diameter. Looks like a small engine valve spring. I put it on top of the adjustable Z axis stop right in the middle. Then lower the head down...

    The Great Metric System Debate.

Never thought of it that way. So in a sense we keep the forces of nature balanced by keeping extra R's in one part of the universe to balance out the lack of them in another?? Not sure that works out mathematically. But should we use metric or imperial when doing that calculation?
