    Maybe we are not obsolete

Article on the need for machinists; http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/12/15/on-job-hunt-machinists-in-high-demand/?test=latestnews I found it interesting when I took a basic machinist class at a local trade school that the instructor told us he was going to teach us the manual lathe and mill...

    Managing my PC

I know Bogs is feeling some heartburn over losing some data so I just want to say that this post in no way is poking at him! It did make me think that some of what I do might be useful to someone else. Figured it would be best to start another thread. I have two PC's and one laptop that I use...

    $89 7X10 lathe?

This item and all his others were cancelled and he is no longer a registered user!! Anybody shocked?? My question was not how cheap the items were. I was wondering how he could ship for free when shipping was more than the sale price. :o He would have been smarter to charge about $200 for...

My first engine, but wow is it noisy.

Nice job. Thm: Tighten up the fit on the bushing and it will smooth out. Also try changing the timing of the valve. Sometimes the timing can cause a knock. Just rotate the crank a little each way and see how it runs. Might also be smoother if you drop the pressure and run a little slower. I...

    Lets Talk About Picture Size

Other tools that are very useful include the "Snipping Tool" that comes with Windows 7. "Paint.Net" is a fantastic photo editor with a lot of the features of PhotoShop but with one big plus ...... it is a totally free download. The two together are fantastic. You can clip any part of your...

    Electrical Safety

The electric device that I thought was the poorest design I ever saw was a timer for a heater with a 220 volt line but the timer only had a single contact in it and instructions showed it installed and just interrupting one leg of the 220 v circuit. Sure it shut down the heater it controlled but...

    Electrical Safety

I have one of these and love it: http://www.familyhandyman.com/DIY-Projects/Electrical/Electrical-Tools/how-to-use-cheap-electrical-testers Detects AC power without making contact. Requires no ground or neutral. Works through insulation. You can find a hot wire in a bundle of wires or stick it...
