    Cerrobend works great have used it many times, don't forget to anneal the mettle to be bent first or it could split or wrinkle.

    My opinion is that you are all looking too deep for a none existing problem with the machine. It is just caused by not turning the cross slide handle at a constant speed, when you momentary stop to move your hand for another turn the tool drags for a sec and causes the patterns.

    I have one that does that now and again I find a quick spray on the leg and work it a few time and it OK for another six months.

    Yep I am with you there try some real fuel, and maybe close the plug gap to see if you get a darker blue spark.
