Multi cylinder or single cylinder only one cylinder is firing at once so just the area of one piston to determine the carb size.

    Dynamotive merlin castings

Had no problem just copied the above number and then paste it into the search box in Ebay and there it is easy. Bit pricy for me mind but they do look good.

    Precision cross feed setting

Yes one Edwards Five, it was the second I/C engine I built about eight years ago. Built strictly to the drawings turned out fine and runs well, think it must be due a strip down and clean soon.

    More questions about my tailstock

Come on chaps you do not need a centre in the tailstock and head stock to see its out, the chuck shows it perfect. Yes when you come to actually align it then a test bar, but he is only doing an assessment . Looks like the wrong tailstock to me as it should be mating on the two flats surfaces...

    Question about chuck/arbor in tailstock

Craig, I would think twice about shortening the taper as you will lose rigidity. I found this out the hard on my milling machine the hard way. My super 7 ejects from the tailstock, how far back dose yours eject. it.

I have built the Edwards Five as per the drawings and it runs fine, but this thread on valve cages is all good stuff and very enlightening, think I can see now where I went wrong with me Cirrus. I will have to get it down from the shelf and redo the valves. Thanks chaps.

    Camping steam engine

You could always go off grid and talk to your fellow campers or dare I say play a game with them. You do not NEED to be on line 24 hrs a day.

    Mill Engine

Runs and sounds very nice, just don't like the Allen bolts should be hex or even square nuts. Love the decoration on the end cylinder cover.

    Bending brass tubing

Dave never had a problem getting the CerroBend out of the tube. Instructions don't mention a release agent.
