I had more success with spiral flute taps, because the workpiece is transported more reliable. Made a serrated wheel for the 3d printer and it works O.K.. If you calculate the diameter and infeed you can also make small usable worm-wheels. A matching bolt is the worm.

You could try Freecad. worst case you do not like it. But you will probably need to spend some time to figure it out.

Very true! What is considered high pressure? What do you want to pump? Volume per time? Energy source you have in mind? Are you in it for the build fun, or just want a pump? (make or buy or re-purpose?) Pumps are relatively cheap compared to the effort to make one. Greetings Timo

During sintering of metal powder shrinkage in this magnitude is not unusual. (actually 10% sounds not much) Voids are removed during the sintering. Pressed green parts look like a solid metal, but can be crumbled.

I think it boils, once again, down to the question if the grinder is the project or the tool for a project. And.... how many cams you want to grind. It seems that it can be a useful tool for someone who is proficient and productive. For a (many) complicated engine it may be worth it? Not too...

If I think of a tree i immagine something like this, were parts are combined to larger groups. Different parts can be combines more or less random. The main advantages would be that the parts can be very close to final dimension. Some weird shapes are possible that would require fiddling...

Made the fins. Checked the gear mesh. Small gear was re-done (what 6 times? :) ). I made the flywheel from a disc of round stock that I found on the pile, and the flywheelpulley came from a piece of 2" bar stock. Flywheelbushing I skipped yesterday. It is still pending..... Cutting the fins...
