Got some Q's about my Stuart 10H

A year or two ago I bought a premachined assembly kit of one of these little gems, and it went together reasonably well. Runs nicely enough, if I put air inside it it spins right up! But it ain't running right. I had ideations of running it off an aquarium pump so I could have it loping over at...

Got a couple more questions about running/caring for a small steam engine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJz57rVabwk They'll run on aquarium pumps. Hordes of videos of these things on YT running on as little as one PSI.

Got a couple more questions about running/caring for a small steam engine

Real life got in the way and made me put my plans to get into this hobby on the back burner. But that's all sorted and I'm ready to get in. My first step is gonna be fairly simple: Buy a pre-machined PMR 3BIM, spend another 10 on an aquarium bubbler pump to power it, get some odds 'n ends 'n...

What all is required to get into this hobby?

Oooh. Nice! Gives me a reason to replace the cord on the century-old bench grinder that's collecting dust and dirt daubers in my carport. Thing still turns smooth as butter despite age and disuse, a new cord and a thorough cleaning/lubing and itt'l be good as new.

What all is required to get into this hobby?

Mmm, yes, measuring stuffs. Was gonna ask about that next anyway. Already have a good 0-1 mike though, which is nice. Never gets used aside from when I get bored and decide to see how many thou thick my truck keys are :D. Don't have any of the calibration measures for it, though, but then again...

What all is required to get into this hobby?

Mmm, if they're high enough quality then I think that one will be my first. I did the conversions, it's big enough to work with the smaller stuff, and being both a mill and a lathe in one machine I can easily enough pack it away in a cupboard when I'm not using it. Time to start looking into...

What all is required to get into this hobby?

I got to looking a bit more at this thread, and in particular the machines within it. One machine caught my eye. http://www.siegind.com/products_detail/&productId=3b4a4bd4-a6c2-4a89-81bb-edc65d5c8050.html The thread mentions they're a popular choice, so I'm assuming they're not terrible. But...

What all is required to get into this hobby?

Checking that out. Not for me. Too broke to afford it, yet not broke enough to get grants. Hence my interest in thta engine. My plan was to buy the pre-machined one first, build that(Shouldn't be hard since I've done headwork on car engines), and modify it a bit. Turn it into a 2-cycle glow...

What all is required to get into this hobby?

Little background: I quite literally grew up with a wrench in my hand. Been working on engines my whole life, and I've always had a massive interest in tinkering with things in general. My interest in such things has led me to the myriad of Youtube videos showing these miniature marvels...
