Cooling water for small engine !

I prefer using only pure Glycol. I don't like having any water around my Cast Iron liners. Even a 50:50 Mixture with water makes the liners rust. It only takes a bit longer. The cooling capacity is the same as with water or mixtures.

    Harvard/Stickney Jr Model

My solution for this is, I´m milling a small flat spot on the crankshaft where the set screw left its mark. The screw can sit really thight on this flat and you will have no problem to remove the flywheel if necessary.

    Harvard/Stickney Jr Model

Hey Jon Just a hint. Set srews a not a good idea. Please keep in mind, that when you use the setscrews as the plan calls for, they will press a mark in your crankshaft when you fasten them that makes it almost impossible to remove the flywheel from the crankshaft. This is my own personal...

    Tiny I.C. finished

Hi This little sign is a Casting made of Brass. I soldered a holder on the backside and painted it red. After drying, I sanded off the excess paint to bring out the upstanding Brass. The sign itself was ready available in a model railroad-shop.

    Vapour carburettors

Hi Andy Yes it means the engine will lack lubrication. In case of a Nitro engine I would not recommend a Vapor carburator, because they need between 10 and 15% of oil. Vapor carbs a mostly used for gas engines not running unter load or high rpm's. In case it's a Nitro engine I would always...

    Vapour carburettors

Hi Andy The Vapor carburator will work with Nitro fuel as well, because the working principal is the same. And yes, you are right , the dissolved oil in the fuel is left behind. Only a very small amount of oil gets, beside the fuel Vapor, sucked into the engine. Stefan

Another try to build an engine running with diesel fuel

One more thought! The differential pressure between the combustion chamber and the fuel pressure must be very high. Otherwise you won't get any spray inside the combustion chamber. I. E. If your compression pressure inside the engine is let's say 20 bar and your fuel pressure is 25 bar, the...
