Hi Basil Congrats on a very well done, cool Looking and smooth running engine. I am more into building "Old Iron" Engines with big Flywheels, but i know how much work it is, even with the help of CAD and CNC to create an engine like this. My respect! 👍

I totally agree! A lot of Bla Bla about Things that have nothing to Do with the original thread. Sadly you find this behaviour more and more on this forum.

    Harvard/Stickney Jr Model

Hey John If you are using Teflon sheet as gasket material there is no need to use any kind of sealant. Just leave it dry. Mostly i use Teflon sheet with a thickness of 0,3 to 0,5 mm. That`s enough. But remember Teflon tends to flow away under constant pressure and heat, so a sheet too thin...

Effective muffler for a two-stroke model aeroplane engine.

Owen From my own experience i can Tell you that building a good silent muffler on your own for an RC Airplane is not worth the time, effort and money. The only way to make a muffler silent, lightweight and durable is to make it out of Aluminum and solder the parts together. This needs special...

Shop built sparkplugs for model engines

Jasonb i totally agree. That's exactly what happens here. I would also remove the overhanging brasscap. Instead i would drill a small piece of threaded rod, maybe M3 and solder the music wire into it and then glue the whole Thing into the plug. Most People forget that you need much more energy...

A new attempt at making piston rings

This is 2 ten thousands of a millimeter! Are you sure about this ?? Every small temperature change, which you have several times a day will change the dimension of this piston by far more. No one in the Massproduction Industrie will manufakture to such small tolerances.

    Gloves in a Bottle

"This has been a very Monty Pythonish discussion. ;)" I agree! People! That was just a hint for a product which someone may find interesting. That's OK. If you can use it, fine! If not, leave it. Simple as that. But there is no need to break an endless offtopic discussion off the fence.

    Mini Tube bender.

Terry I´m also interested in building a pipe bender with multi capabilities. This one looks like it can do the job. I do have some homemade benders for small pipes and they all work more or less good, but none of them has the range to bend pipes from 2 to 8 mm. At the moment i`m working on a...
