    Need Blow Off Valve plan

as mentioned the vac on overun opens the valve against spring pressure, ive made several in the past. The important thing to remember is to keep the dia of the "seal" where the piston meets the neck on the boost side smaller than the piston dia, or it will leak when it comes on boost due to the...

Acetal (plastic) piston and/or valves, anyone ever tried it?

video of said "Blowing" into this engine and making it run please!

    Time for a Radial

Looking good chuck, When you say it will be a four stroke does that mean it will induct on a downward stroke, compress on an upward stroke, "fire" by admission of air on a downward stroke, and finally exhaust on an upward stroke? is this more efficient than just a simple two stroke design where...

Small Engine Turbocharger (Is it possible)

Certainly in real life turbo's are better than superchargers in my experience, thats why we see soo many turbo diesel and performance petrol turbo cars, the turbo makes for better fuel economy when off boost, and makes for higher torque accross the board when in boost as the peak boost can be...

Small Engine Turbocharger (Is it possible)

i already have ideas running through my head! :big:

Small Engine Turbocharger (Is it possible)

yes, as a seperate project i think a small turbocharger would be excellent! I would make one and use it as a keyring!

    Jim builds his second v-8

Hi, even with a hall sensor you would still nedd to differentiate which one of the eight cylinders is firing at any one time, so the need for a distributor is still present, hope this helps

Small Engine Turbocharger (Is it possible)

Turbocharging is something im very familiar in full sized practice. If the turbine and compressor wheels were accuratly machined from the solid then they would need not be balanced. As in full sized practice a wastegate could be incorporated into the exhust housing to regulate boost...

    Trying a Stirling

You set the timing to the optimum setting by adjusting until it runs best. There is no way of saying what is the exact angle as the whole physics of the engine would vary the timing. Its similar to a four stroke engine, in theory the exaust valve and inlet valve should never be open at the smae...

    Arnold's small turbine

or just use bronze bearings like turbos do, thay do 100,000 rpm

    Trying a Stirling

see my picture at the top of the post mate, timing is controlled by two crank discs, it wont run AT ALL if it is minutly out

    Arnold's small turbine

or use a worm reduction as i first said ;)

    Arnold's small turbine

centrifugal superchargers use epicyclic gears and run at 50,000 rpm, so i think it would be ok IMO ;)
