    Two IC newbies Build Websters

Great Idea! I will be following this build. My first (and only completed) I.C. engine is an Upshur farm engine I built about 15 years ago. I have 3 more in various stages of completion-I hope to finish my 1/4 scale Gade this year. I have built 2 steam (air) motors, but my heart is still with...

Philip Duclos "Odds N Ends" hit and miss engine

Nice work, Brian. I've had the Phillip Duclos book for years and read it many times. I have learned a lot from it, although I haven't built any of his engines yet. I did sucessfully make several piston rings using his instructions. They are running now in my Upshur farm engine. Keep up the good...

    Elmer's #30 opposed engine

There is a video of this under "completed Engines" I have about 5 or 6 engines in various stages of completion and 2 others complete. Too many hobbies and too little time! cheepo45

    Harbor Freight rotary table

I have a Harbor Freight 3" rotary table. I like that it fits in my mill vise for quick rounding of linkage ends etc. I machined the center hole to .475 so it would be concentric with its axis and so I could make center plugs in various sizes for quick setups. It's not real rigid and the lock...

    Elmer's #30 opposed engine

Thanks! I like the brushed finish because it covers the scratches. It came out more photogenic than I thought it would! cheepo45

    Elmer's #30 opposed engine

I finished up my Elmer's #30 Opposed today. It went together really well and ran great right from the beginning. I am really stoked! Here are some pictures. I am still trying to figure out how to post a video of it running. I hope to see many of you at the Cabin Fever Expo in April. Now to clean...

    Mill-Drill belts marked wrong?

It looks like the original belts are marked with the O. D. measurements, and the new belts are marked with the I. D. measurements! The moral of the story is don't trust anything chinese! I will have to send back the new belts. In the meantime, I bought two link belts from Harbor Freight and they...

    Mill-Drill belts marked wrong?

Hi everyone, I ordered new belts for my 8 x 29 table size Mill-Drill, using the sizes marked on the belts (B34 and B41). The new belts marked with the same numbers are too long and can't be tightened. The new ones are goodyear belts. Does anyone have any information on the proper sizes...

    Elmer's #30 opposed engine

Thanks. The flywheel is 304 stainless- with lots of sanding and polishing!

    First engine ideas.

My first engine was an Upshur Farm Engine. Highly recommended! I do agree with Tin that an air motor is probably best for your first build, But I also prefer I.C. motors (I don't like to be tied to an air source) This web site has a wealth of information and very helpful, decent people to assist...

    This tool...

It's for measuring engine cylinder diameter and taper. I was an Automotive Machinist for years and have used these many times. You set it with an O.D. mic, then use the long handle to slide it up and down the cylinder. Nice find! Cheepo45

    Elmer's #30 opposed engine

Hi Everyone, I got bogged down on a couple of my long term builds and installing an Ebay 3 axis D.R.O. on my Mill-Drill. I decided to build an Elmer's opposed engine so I would have something complete for the Cabin Fever show. Here are some pictures of my progress so far...

    Dave's Cracker Loco

Nice Job, Dave! I like the way you modified it to use the crankshaft valving rather than making it a wobbler.
