    Webster Build Questions?

I have been running my Upshur farm engine with points and condenser, an old Ford coil and a 9.6 volt rechargeable RC car battery for 28 years and it still runs fine. I'm a car guy, so most of this stuff I had laying around. Scott

    Side Lever Steam Engine

Here is the latest update. I actually have parts that move now! On a side note - I really like the machined finish on the parts. What is the best way to keep it from rusting? I was thinking about clear lacquer, but I don't want it to chip off. Any suggestions? Thanks, Scott

    Side Lever Steam Engine

Good afternoon, Everyone. I wanted to show the parts I have made so far. The plans are from Home Shop Machinist Magazine (July-December 2008). All these parts are made from mild steel. (1018) As you can see, this is a small engine (the flywheel is about 2 1/2" diameter). It has been interesting...

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

I used a watch crystal glass for my fuel tank end - very inexpensive on Amazon.com. I glued it into the tank end recess with Gorilla super glue, not expecting it to last very long. It's still not leaking after almost 7 years! Scott

My Jerry Howell v-twin (s/n #599) has sprung into life

Beautiful engine and runs well! There is something really special about getting an I.C. engine to run the first time. Scott

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

Hi Brian, I had Knee replacement surgery a few years ago. After the first week I was able to spend about 45 minutes in the shop before I had to sit for a couple of hours. I actually got quite a bit done during my recuperation. The more active you are the faster it will heal. Wishing you the...

Gerry's Beam Engine Imperial Frame Drawings needed

I have the original drawings, but the frames are not dimensioned to be programmed on a Prototrak. They were designed to be laser cut from a DXF file. I don't have a DXF converter available. I need to program them point to point. Thanks, Scott

Gerry's Beam Engine Imperial Frame Drawings needed

Hello everyone, I want to build a Gerry's Beam. I know that I'm late to the party with this, but I like the design. Are there any imperial dimensioned drawings for the frames? I need point to point drawings so I can program my Prototrak Mill to cut them out. I have been searching for a while...

    Tentative first Four stroke

My first I.C. engines were from plans from UpshurEngineWorks.com The plans are very good and include instructions and building tips. Miniature I.C. engines can be tricky to get running, but it's a great feeling when they first start! Scott

    Machining Valve Stems

I remember George showing me this engine at the Cabin Fever Show years ago. The only way that you could tell it was running was by a small quiver on the rocker arms! What a craftsman! Scott

Parcell and Weed Vertical air cooled engine

Here is the engine cleaned up and ready for the shows! This was the most challenging of my engine builds to date. it has a lot of very small parts (especially in the hit and miss mechanism). A lot of fiddling and adjustments were needed to get it to run properly. Now on to the next project! Scott
