    Tap sizes

Richard Personally I don’t use them under 1/4 inch just because. I have some kind of a trust issue the shank gets pretty small below a 1/4 inch. Just my own opinion

School me on using annular cutters in my milling machine

If your looking at buying a mag drill look no further then Hougen. I have 3 of these one just used for taping with a tapmatic head on it. I have personally drilled through 6 inch solid steel with annular cutters without issues. But they are not worth ten cents in sheet metal they tend to want to...

    Tap sizes

Forgot something. I use spiral flute taps about 98% of the time and have never broke a tap. In my honest the only reason a tap breaks is so to operator error.

    Tap sizes

Yes spiral flute taps are made for blind holes And the reason for this is because they bring the chips up out of the hole

    Viton o-ring Headgasket

You surly are not talking about Tetranitromethane are you Lmao isn’t that an oxidizer for rocket fuel or some **** like that. I know it’s used to raise the cetane numbers in diesel fuel. But if I recall that’s not very stable is it.

    Viton o-ring Headgasket

On the Hemi’s we built we always used copper wire just for the better crush you get from the copper wire it’s really a matter of the type of build your doing and some personal preference either one will work. I just remember having some problems using stainless wire when ever we got close to...

    Viton o-ring Headgasket

Why not just use copper wire it’s done all the time on blower engines and high compression engines. You can even buy an o-ring groove tool. I have used .035-.060 copper wire for this. Some people have even have went from .020-.125 wire

    Squaring Stock

What I see missing from all these procedures is to set your material on parallels on the same side as your none moving jaw until you have at least 2 sides milled then you can add your second parallel Thanks Tom

    Machining hard steel

Do you have a rotary table if you do then use that with a end mill with a ALTIN coating I my self have to cut oil grooves or slots for non rotation in bearing races up to 36 inch Diam. Since you mentioned being a home shop I doubt you will have enough H/P to use ceramic’s but I may be wrong...

    Mini diesel engine.

Minh Sorry for just getting back to you. It’s been a long time since I have worked on a flow bench. But if I am right on this. I think this is the equation you would use to figure the swept volume of a cylinder. The easiest way if I recall was the volume of air ingested in a cylinder for each...

    Mini diesel engine.

Minh I think my original question was supposed to be more like this. Are you sure you’re getting enough air flow through the intake system for the amount of fuel??? This is just an area that is often overlooked and mis-judged Thanks Tom
