I have used one of these for a couple years now and really love it. Pretty much eliminates all coolant. The only time I use any lube or coolant is for tapping.

MSC has them and McMaster Carr has them You have to drill a oversized hole for them then using a regular tap tap the hole and screw In The insert then tap the tabs down. I can assure you this is a very permanent repair. Tom

Either weld the hole up and rest I’ll and tap or use a locking keysert they have 3 and 4 tabs that after drilling them out and installing the keysert you tap the locking keys in place and that locks the insert. They have them in thick wall and thin wall

That’s kind of what I was saying that it had to go through a gear box first. Brian was originally talking about just using a love joy coupler to couple the engines together. If anything I would not use a lovejoy. I would use a omega coupling at the very least.
