    Upshur's opposed twin engine

Brian, It's always good to get out and do a bit after having work done on the body. Great picture. Cheers Andrew

    Upshur's opposed twin engine

Brian, It's good to see you on the mend. Don't try and do too much too soon or you will be back at the start again. As Gordon has said, don't tell the son, maybe he will keep helping out. Cheers Andrew

    End of an (electrical) era

Brian, I picked these up on the week end at a garage sale. 9 sets for $10, should keep me going forever. Cheers Andrew

    End of an (electrical) era

Vietti, Some of the 70's era Honda motor cycles(4 stroke) used some small points, I had a couple of 500/4 bikes in the late 70's that had two sets in the points area. Cheers Andrew

Starting with the Boll Aero 18

You can read this, all about fuel. The fuel is safe if you don't mess around. I have been mixing my own fuel for almost 40 years and never had a problem. A 1/3 mix of Ether, Kero and oil is a very stable fuel mix that will work in all model diesel engines...

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

Brian, Looking at the video it looks like the rear cylinder(with weight) the valve timing is reversed, the inlet opens then the exhaust opens, then it rolls around through comp, power stroke. May be the problem. Cheers Andrew

    1898 Nash Two Cylinder Build

Did you install the resistor that is in the plug end of the fitting, if not you will burn out the secondary coils in the ign box. Cheers Andrew

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

Brian, did you swap the spark plugs between the cylinders. I may be a bad spark plug. Just asking Cheers Andrew

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

Brian, do it the old fashioned way, just hold finger over spark plug hole and spin engine over and then check the other cylinder, and compare. Cheers Andrew

    Tabletop CNC

Brian. It may be worth it. Cam cutting is not all that easy. Also you could machine the nose radius as well. I was looking at doing a cam grinder, but getting materials, mainly the gearing and belt systems at the time, slowed me down. Cheers Andrew

    Unkown Engine

Hi All, After info on some castings that was given to me this morning, some have been worked, missing bottom crankcase?, or it could be a flat twin, 2 stroke engine, only one rod, looks like in bronze. Any one know the engine name would be helpful. Cheers Andrew

    Let's make a 4 cylinder flat

Congrats on getting all 4 to fire, the Video looks good to me, its not shaking all over the place like some, and its nice and clear. The length of the intake runners could be a problem with it running rich and lean, also wont help with slow running. Cheers Andrew

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

Brian, It all depends on the crankshaft, if both crank pins are on the same plane(both cylinders/pistons TDC at same time) you can use one set of points, with a twin coil, if the crank pins are 180deg apart you will need two separate ign pick ups and coils. Hope this helps. Cheers Andrew
