    Index table arduino suggestion

I tried it on at least 4 different boards , all cheap chinese nano clones . All behaved thesame . My uno however , wich is also a chinese clone with the exact same chip on it as the nano's didn't have this issue at all . I wrote to the eeprom several times to test if I did something wrong ...

    Index table arduino suggestion

There's an issue with writing to the nano eeprom . Rod's software allows to store up to 9 different indexers in eeprom . U can use different ratio's and different output pins to control various devices . Fi an indexer and a rotary table witch will have a diferent mechanical setup . I believe...

    Index table arduino suggestion

This code by rodw is very wel written and has proven to be stable . I've used it for quite some time now , never had any issues . The 2*20 display is not a problem at all , you'll get used to using it in no time . https://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/threads/arduino-indexer-full-project.31475/

Finishing piston o.d. with toolpost grinder

Brian do a google search for "vertical shear tool " . It's a simple hss tool , but it works flawless . Lock the crosslide , set your compound to 3° and feed in with the compound . That will get you the accuracy needed . I do it all the time when machining shaft ends for bearings . Pat

    Wrong way fly cutter

Always wondered why there are no left handed angle grinders . Would be so handy in certain situations . Same for calipers . Altough they seem te be avilaible now . Pat

    Considering a 3 phase CNC small lathe - - - have 240V single phase

I have three fase 380V in my shop . Even then , I 'm still a big fan of vfd's . Most my machines have one 380V in - 380V out . The soft start , the rpm control , the easy reverse , the brake .... can't be beaten . I love it . Especially the soft start .

    Chinese MT reamers .

I guess this must be a world speed record . I ordered the a set of reamers a week ago , and they arrived today . That's 8 days , weekend included , from china to here . At first sight they seem OK . Carbon steel not hss , as advertised . Could do with some stoning I'de say , especially...

    Chinese MT reamers .

I seem to have damaged MT3 of my tailstock . There's a circular burr , halfway down the bore . Most likely I have a drill with a damaged shank somewhere , and that transferred to the tailstock . I know there are special reamers to repair these , wich 'll cost you a fortune . So I was...

    DoAll Bandsaw for Brian

Indeed , most likely some piece of dirt got knocked loose during transport and acted as a wedge somehow and seized the motor . Brian I'm kinda surprised that a handy fellow like you at your age has never taken a motor apart .

    T head engine by Brian

don't forget to chamfer before welding , and imho the best electrode to use is 2% lanthanated .

    DoAll Bandsaw for Brian

If it's a 380-220 volt motor , it should be wired in delta . If it's a 110-220 volt it needs to be wired in star . If it's a 600-400 volt motor it can't be used in this application . The vfd's 3 output terminals have to be wired directly to the motor without any switches , relay's ,thermal...

    DoAll Bandsaw for Brian

VFD's are defintly the way to go . The softstart , the slope down , the breaking options; not to mention the rpm controll .... unbeatable . I have 3 phase in my shop , we even have 3*380V in europe and still I rewired most of my machines to use a a 3phase in - 3 phase out vfd . Very nice...

CNC Mach 3 Parallel port replacement

On a laptop , certainly the older ones , there will be one or two pcmcia expansion slots . A pcmcia parallel card cost almost nothing , and it will work just like a pci-e on a desktop .

    Casting fun

Just imagine having such a , even a tiny one , machine at home . No more moulding , no more pattern draft , forget about core making , no more gates and feeders and risers .... oh wel , keep on dreaming .... and I'm already very happy with the 3d printed patterns anyway .
