    PeeWee V4 slow build

I remember having a conversation awhile back about castings, and I'm pretty sure it was about Bob shores. I had though he poured his own castings, but had actually had a foundry do them. The discussion was about how well they machined, they didn't gum up like cast aluminium will if its not...

    Teflon Spark Plug Boot Mold

Why not use http://www.riogrande.com/Product/Castaldo-VLT-Very-Low-Temperature-3-8-Mold-Rubber-Strips-5-lbs/701005?Pos=25 This stuff will expand slightly when heated and completely fill the mold if there are any air gaps. Seems easier to get good results...

    3d printing and casting molds

I think i had sanded the a frames, but the base is as printed. The wood filled filament prints very well and sands very easily which makes it great for making patterns for sand casting, but it does not burn out clean for investment casting. For investment casting i use regular pla plastic which...

    3d printing and casting molds

Yes you certainly may print the patterns for casting. I recommend using the wood filled filament from colorfabb as it is easy to sand and finish.

I tried zip tying it back together (yea that all most worked) and then thought you dummy theres a whole spool of couplers up stairs. So I...

    Flathead V-8 engine

I do a lot of investment casting of 3d printed parts. Biggest problem is you need to have a disolvable support material and would have to cast the block without the sleeves so you can get the investment in and out of the block. At 1/3 scale I think its very possible to get the exhaust passages...
