Very interesting - - - - what's the operating rpm range on the motor (assuming you have some idea)? Sounds like you figured out how to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!!! Good on you!

It used to be easy to fly - - - - then came 9/11 then about 8 years after that a drive to insane profit targets and it is no longer easy to travel. Possible - - - yes - - - but you better have longs of $$$$$$$$$$ and a skinny butt and narrow shoulders or you're in trouble. Did a little travel...

DIY Dyno Arduino based with Data logging. Real Cheap success.

Suggestion - - - I watched a tractor on a dynamometer (its a few years ago) and there was a garden hose attached and running to help cool the brake. That water got quite hot - - - - wasn't quite steam but getting close - - - we were close to the max that the dynamometer was capable of handling...

Great idea - - - - thanks for confirming your technical terms!!! Hmmmmm - - - - wonder how that blower would last on a serious furnace boiler? (I wonder if replacing the bearings and perhaps stabilizing the impellor re: the housing would be enough to transform the blower from an occasion use...

(Beeg grin) - - - - You would find that your German would improve with use!!! (Grin - - - I did and do!)

(Apologies to the on topic cops!!!) I find that translators are all too often poorly nuanced and their translations all too often feel wooden. Might be word accurate but they most definitely aren't what a fluent capable speaker in the second language would use. (Its translation by machine - -...

It seems like many educated Europeans work in 4 to even 6 languages and its not really considered a big deal. Here - - - well - - - there used to be major pressure for English only and then in Canuckistan the Quebecers took the right to French only (which does really make for a mess when trying...

Fascinating work there!!! - - - - So what 'does' the 37% fuel refer to? (I'm guess that 90% air means that its 90% of maximum air flow or ????????) Did you print the centrifugal fan yourself? TIA

No problemo - - - - there are others from other lands that function better in their own language(s) that do post here. Has been some French and some Italian (IIRC). As I am responding to the individual that I'm addressing I will use their primary use language to the extent that I can. In my...

At the risk of sounding like a total a$$hat - - - given what you've just presented - - - maybe you should consider taking breaks from talking here on a somewhat more regular basis - - - this is real good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!! (Chuckling!)

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

If that is a concern - - - then a way to block off intake air is needed. (I have been known to overload a diesel to stall it when it tried to do that!)

Building a twin cylinder inline i.c. engine.

For his 'steam' engine a Mr Dan Gelbart has a rather interesting solution - - - he uses electronic timing - - no cams.

    New Guy from Wis

Remembered something (vaguely to be honest) so checked to make sure I wasn't remembering any pure male bovine excrement - - - here's an option. TL;DR Try using a brad point drill for a drill geometry on copper (sheet I would think). (Punching your holes might even be preferable - - - dunno.)...

    First time bevel gear cutting

Thank you ever so much for the list of references!!! Do you happen to know of anything for spiral bevel gearing? (Tried looking in archive - - - I don't find their search engine 'wonderful' though!) TIA

    First time bevel gear cutting

(totally tongue in cheek) now if only you would do a spiral bevel gear set (grinning - - - the fact that you even made your set is a real big deal - - - good on you).) More seriously - - - good on you! Learning is most always a good thing!!!
