IC Hit & Miss engine coolant.

For what it is worth, don't use ethylene glycol based coolants. I used it on a "closed" system, a V8 with radiator, but I had a slow drip leak that destroyed the polyurethane clear on the oak base. It also deeply stained the oak below the clear. It is also poisonous and an open hopper style...

Old Lesson re learned on low tension ignition for a Red Devil 1903

Well I just completed a Red Devil from Shelf Pet Models. It has low tension ignition . After trying different point metals , I settled on tungsten. Iron makes a big spark but erodes fast and guess where that iron spark slag goes. ?? I also tried various coils from a extremely low resistance...

Model hit or miss ignition fail

Just for what it is worth, They were used on Model T's and run on 6v positive ground but the polarity doesn't matter. They make an amazing spark! Fuel was iffy back then.

    Aviation fuel in 4-stroke engine?

I really like the True Fuel 40-1 and 50-1, 2 cycle fuel . Available at Home Depot and others. Very long shelf life and also holds up well in model engine tanks. High octane also. Just my 1.414 cents worth.
