Steamchick.. There are some other properties in bolts that are exposed to stretching and twisting. The crankshaft is exposed to bending and twisting. The undercut must not be deep and rounded from edge to edge.

    18 Cylinders Isotta Fraschini (straight six-cylinder x3 )

To understand better why we has difference angles on the master rod connected to other connecting rod.. With 2 different lengths from the crank pin to the piston pin in the connecting rod, the piston does not have the same speed and side pressure in the same stroke length, therefore a specific...

Sugden Special 2,49cc model diesel engine

Olli-Matti Great to see the engine is running. 😃 Most often we choose the measurements that are closest to the inch measurements since we live in a metric society that everything should work regardless. Greetings from the 5th generation roots of Finnish origin who living in Norway.😊🇳🇴🇫🇮

    Stirling engine efficiency.

The displacer cylinder must be larger in height to make greater temperature difference since the stove is hotter than low temperature stirling engine, let us say larger distance between hot and cold area. The cylinder wall must be thin to lead hot into the cylinder quickly to heat up air and the...

    Welding a copper boiler?

We has both copper and cupronickel who are darker and more stiff to form in curves than copper tubes for brake in the cars when we're replace the corroded steel tube. I have never seen a cracked copper tube caused by the brake pressure since I have worked and still work for 30 years as a car...

Almost burned my shop down and didn't even know it

1 Hp motor has 745,6 watt and run at 110 volt then it has 7,76 ampere. 745,6W / (0.8 × 120V) = 7,76A 15 or 20 ampere fuse is not problem since its low ampere from electrical motor at 745,6 watt (1 hp). Propably bad connection between wiring and wall contact or wall contact and plug who...

    18 Cylinders Isotta Fraschini (straight six-cylinder x3 )

Not such a small width of valve/valve seat contact because cooling is needed via the cylinder head so that the valves do not get too hot. The exhaust valves have a wider contact area than the intake valves since the exhaust valves are more exposed to heat and must conduct the heat away from the...

Model Diesel: 32mm bore, 38mm stroke, indirect injection

Now, I remember, it's a very old construction to spread the fuel around inside the swirl camber. Allready gone out of production since the common rail diesel engine is most used in all diesel cars in Europe since 1995 as standard. (I'm car mechanic in 30 years work.) The other name on pintle...

Webster Valve after and before lapping taken from pcb microscope.

Use stainless steel when you are making the poppet valve and the valve seat of bronce. The exhaust gas has acids to rusting the steel parts on these poppet valves/seats. I has Webster engine and still in good condition since 2008. :)

Model Diesel: 32mm bore, 38mm stroke, indirect injection

Pintle injector is made for rocket engine,.. never in the diesel engine. After the fuel is injected, never fuel is dripping out of injector. The injector must be closed when the fuel is not injected into the cylinder.

    Olsryd Merlin - Feasible?

Plans of engines created by Karl Erik Olsryd can still be found on the internet. But sending an e-mail to Karl Erik is not possible as he passed away on 21 March 2004 in Gothenburg, Sweden. He lived to be 89 years old. The first time I saw his 9-cylinder radial engine was in the Swedish hobby...

Model Diesel: 32mm bore, 38mm stroke, indirect injection

Nerd1000... Fuel pump with big bore and small stroke is much difficult to regulate the amount of fuel by regulator and operator. Better to have small bore and the stroke is regulated by regulator depending on revolution and load. Find Hansen diesel engine has 2 mm bore and the stroke is...
