    Diesel engine : Kromhout Gardner 4LW 1940

I designed it myself There is one mistake with the fuel pump system: there is no part to shut off the fuel, which makes adjustment....extremely difficult. I'm changing and redesigning the entire engine.

    Request - Injector designs

Just a plan and hope it gives you some ideas... Designing an injector is not too difficult, the real thing is making it sealed. In the attached picture - The design on the right I used in my 4 cylinder engine, it is quite compact - maybe I will use that design in all future diesel engines

    Upshur's opposed twin engine

Simply - because : where one cam operates the exhaust valve on both cylinders and the other cam operates the intake valve on both cylinders." You just think of it as the engine on one side and when you align the lobe for that engine it will be exactly aligned with the other engine on the...

    Upshur's opposed twin engine

The way you have the lobes arranged is very strange It's only a 1 cylinder engine on each side so the lobe angle will be somewhere around 110 degrees

    Diesel nozzles, EDM

Yes it works, I tried it in my first diesel engine

    Diesel nozzles, EDM

Trust me, sealing the needle and nozzle is really difficult, I wouldn't try to make it too hard.

    Diesel nozzles, EDM

I use the same pump type and adjust the plunger stroke within the pumping range of engine from 0.3 to 1 mm, which allows me to learn...and of course my pump type is different from yours. ;) https://www.homemodelenginemachinist.com/threads/diesel-engine-kromhout-gardner-4lw-1940.33617/post-398028

    Diesel nozzles, EDM

Hi Roger B . When I watch your video...there is something... When you press the pump at the same tempo - same time but the vaporization of the fuel is completely different, the right picture is fine, but the left picture is completely different, it seems like something is wrong with the system

    Diesel nozzles, EDM

But at the same time it also creates a new challenge: sealing between the nozzle and the needle. ;) I use C45 and brass . That's one way too , As I said in my other thread : The smaller the hole the better but it's not everything , What really needs is a completely sealed injector and enough...

Model Diesel: 32mm bore, 38mm stroke, indirect injection

Personal opinion...I would grind the surface really well before I even think about gaskets.
