    That's a good for connecting gears but ... the ones I'm trying to make don't all mesh together. Just the 2 each in separate areas. I'm looking for the cutter size if I stated it wrong. Thanks again

    I'm having an issue trying to figure out what involute cutter to buy to make some gears. What I'm trying to accomplish...one gear with 40 tooth with O.D. of .824", another 20 tooth with O.D. of .431", these mesh together.     Band Saw - Harbor Freight or Grizzly?

    I also have a red HF...my only issue is the free pulley (non motor end) for the blade can't be adjusted (I think) and the blade Cerf runs on the pulley dulling it very fast on one side !! I was actually thinking of milling the wheel down about .030" to keep the teeth off the pulley. Anyone else...

    Collets

    Why wouldn't you use R8 collets...they go up higher in size and a lot more common (lots of manufactures and cheaper). My mini mill uses R8 collets. A Grizz G0709. Dave

    Hello Ove, Did you take any pictures while making the cam shaft ? Did you make it on the lathe or a milling machine ? I am going to make my jugs out of ali with cast iron sleeves like yours. Not sure about how to cut the cam yet !! Thanx again, Dave

    DRO on mini-mill - anyone have these?

    The Y and X axis are both 12"..The Y was cut down a little to fit. The 6 would have been too short. You can cut these with a dremel cut-off wheel in no time !! My X axis was a 24 and cut about an inch off that one.
