    We're watching you

John, Does your firewall give you any other more detailed info on the type of attack.. i.e the port or the program it is trying to access. Your router is your first point of defence against attack and that should filter out most things.... It is very likley that your firewall is missreporting...

    Marv Klotz's Utilities

Dave, I've tried everything to replicate your problem on Vista x64 ultimate (spit) to no avail. i.e giving myself the lowest access rights etc etc Now don't shoot me down in flames, I have to ask....... You have unpacked the zip file haven't you? for example you should have the following...

    We're watching you

Sorry update John Hackers have a tendancy to attack blocks of ip addresses over a period of a few evenings, ISP's are allocated a certain number of IP's and hackers will probe for open ports or other "exploits" on all the ip addresses in the block.

    We're watching you

Hi John, The firewall hits you are getting are alomost certainly NOT your ISP, that would be illegal. The ISP's are generally monitoring the traffic through specific ports as peer to peer file sharing sites generally require a specific port, this is how they get you. There are free proxies...

    Work

Hey Sparky, you sound like an ideal candidate for working for yourself, I had a similar eclectic mix of jobs but I'm only starting to "find" myself now. Personally I have found that it doesn't really matter what you choose to do you just need to push hard until you get over the hump, then you...

    Cheating?

Looks like a super project, from your first post I thought you might be making one of these :o :o :o :o It's called a "cri cri" and runs on 2*9hp chainsaw motors. And yes, they used to take off AND land on the top of the car!! I remember seeing one of these displayed at the Paris airshow in...

    Work

I wish I had hung on to a few of the very nice servo motors they used, would have been VERY handy for a cnc conversion. No problem, I could always squeeze you in.

    Work

Ah the joys of paper handling John, my first job after my apprenticeship was as a field tech for Pitney Bowes working on their 9 series folder inserters http://www.setcomco.com/INSERTER_SERIES09.HTM Now after many years in rugged military systems I have a small business which turns this...

    Cheating?

Hi Kludge and welcome to the board BTW, Nah not cheating as long as you post LOTS of pictures, just check out some of Rangersteamtoys posts on this forum, really interesting stuff from a young whippersnapper who I am sure is going to solve the energy crisis single handed some day. I think you...

    vertical lamina flow engine?

hmmm.. I know what you mean, I not sure that I am fully conversant with the theory of these and certainly have no understanding of the numbers involved but I rather fancy building one. I guess I should set up some kind of test rig to do a bit of trial and error and go from there. David

    vertical lamina flow engine?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has seen or had experience running/building a lamina flow engine but mounting it vertically and heating the bottom of the regenerator cylinder. I'm pretty sure it would work but I'm a bit worried about the heat making it's way up the cylinder and reducing...

Anyone with latex or WD40 allergy ?

Hi John, I don't have a problem with latex but do/am suffering from dermatitis on both hands at the moment, I stock all my vans with a barrier cream which gives pretty good protection from most oils and should allow you to use latex gloves as extra protection. The best product I have found so...

    This looked awfully cheap!

oh and BTW I was chatting to my scrap man yesterday and he reckons scrap prices are set to drop back to 2001 levels by the end of next year!! Good for us in most circumstances but not if you have a 2 ton lump to shift...

    This looked awfully cheap!

Whoa back at ya John, Do you reckon that was a fair price for the machine in the listing, as you probably realise I'm pretty clueless but I am in the market for a reasonable mill either CNC or manual with potential for a conversion at some point. I'd definitely be up for a deal once you...

    This looked awfully cheap!

I wish I had made a bid now.... but the financial controller was out and there would have been divorce procedings if I had made an "executive" decision by myself. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200237637112&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting

where can I find car engine line drawings for engines of the 1950/60's?

Hi Mike Are you thinking of those sort of cut-away drawings you used to get on the front of haynes manuals? I wouldn't know where to start making a set of parts from a drawing like that but I'm sure you have a plan. something like this? I know that's not the engine that you are after but is...
