Christmas miracles do still happen - sorta.

On 12/23/24, I received an odd shaped package in the mail, in it were 6 axles for WLToys 12428/12423 1/12 RC cars. I had ordered these axles in mid September for some RC truck projects that I have going on. A few days after the delivery window had ended I contacted the Ebay seller telling him that the order hadn't arrived. According to the tracking records it was delivered into the hands of the "Final mile" shipper in mid to late October - and hadn't moved since. The seller contacted the shipper requesting them to search for the package. About a week later, with no response from the shipper, I asked the seller to refund my money - which he did on 11/19/24.

Then on 12/23 the axles showed up, the package had been obviously opened and resealed. The package was tagged as inspected by US Customs. I contacted the seller and told him that the axles, for which he had already refunded my $87.76, had finally arrived. I told him that I had received the refund in mid-November and asked him to send me a Paypal invoice for the $87.76 that had been refunded. So that I could pay him for the axles I finally received.

On Christmas Eve I got an e-mail from the seller thanking me for my honesty. He also told me that they couldn't access the refund from their end, so I should just forget about the money and have a nice Christmas.

The fact that the order was delayed in customs is not that unusual, but for it to be lost, then found, and then finally show up is. I've had other orders that tracking claimed were delivered, maybe they were - but they were not delivered to MY house. Then on top of that, to the seller thank me for my honesty, tell me that he can't access the refund information from his end and that I should just forget about it and have a nice Christmas... Small Christmas miracles do still happen.

I had ordered a piece of cast iron from MC-Master Carr and received it and the certificate of compliance on12/23/24. I tried to machine the piece and after several inserts with sparks flying I stopped.
I sent them an email explaining the situation. Within 20 minutes I got an email that they were going to refund my money and ship out another piece to me for free to cover my trouble.
That's customer service.

I've never had an issue with M-C, but how do you get a piece of cast iron like that with certification? I'd imagine there were some discussions between them and their supplier after that.

I placed an order with Arc eurotrade for a load of milling cutters, the package arrived with 2 too many in. I rang them to inform them as their box of 10 were actually 12 inside and offered to keep and pay for the additional 2, was told no, thank you for bringing it to their attention and, to keep the 2 carbide cutters have a happy xmas. This was last year and I have used them ever since.
