Hi all, I've just joined this group and would like to introduce my self.
Brief working history, Time served toolmaker , worked in a sub contract shop for 17yrs , machining cutting tools for the oil industry, press tools , jigs and fixtures before finishing my career at the biggest aero engine manufacturers in the UK.
I have now retired and have bought a boxford lathe (model c) , copy of a Warco bench mill. I already had a bench drill, compressor, welder, grinders finishers etc
.Just before I retired I sold all my engineering equipment as where I worked ,you were not allowed personal equipment. My whole life's collection, you name it I probably had it , or had made it. 4 years later I am now having to buy stuff again.(not as good and twice the price that I got !).
I've always fancied having a go at making steam engines , ever since I made one in metalwork at school.
I still have it and have put some pics of it .I look forward to being in this group.
Regards Rob.

Welcome to the group

Dave

Welcome Rob, nice looking engine you have there.
I like this hobby a lot, and it gives me something to do besides work all the time.

Good luck on your retirement projects.
