Planning going with this engine from Engine Model Builder. Given many of you have buillt this from other plans. What changes would you recomend. Ive seen the corrections from issue 8. (plans should have been proff read before in print) Other plans which may not differ or did they? Well be using 14.5 Vs the 20 degree cutters been told the gear center distance will be the same do you argee?
coments?

Gear center distance will be identical just the pressure angle changes.

Unfortunately, the plans were proofread before being published, by Upshur for technical issues and my wife for corrections to my use of English.
The biggest issue with the engine is that it leaks oil by the bucket if built as designed. So put seals on the shafts. The pressure angle makes no real difference with reference to gear size.

One (two) question`: Did Mr. Upshur publish more than one design? Are we discussing the same engine?
When I read your post I have this one in mind, because of the you tube channel.

Proofreading sometimes is a difficult business. The person who made the plan, does not catch missing dimensions, because he has them in his head.
Only reading it is easy to miss details.
A "proofbuild" would be necessary and I assume it is difficult to find someone who does it professionally in a short time at no cost.

Greetings Timo

Two sets of plans, Brian's build I think is from Upshur's and then there are the ones from the MEB Drawings. Same basic engine but a few things on one drawing may be different to the other.

Should also point out that "Upshur build" could cover his other designs not just the opposed twin. But #8 was the opposed twin.
